Ayambil, Nivi, Ekashna, Biyashna Pachakhan

Instructions for Taking Pachkhan:

  1. Fold your hands, preferably in front of a photo of Bhagwan.

  2. Make sure your mouth is clean.

  3. Select the Pachkhan you want to take.

  4. Play and listen to the recording.

  5. When the recording says “Pachkhai,” silently say “Pachkhami” in your mind.

Ayambil :

In Ayambil, eat only once a day, without consuming any Vigai, fruits, or vegetables, and finish your meal within 48 minutes while sitting in one place. Do not eat or drink anything else, except boiled water, which can be taken only until sunset. By observing Ayambil, a person can shed karmas equivalent to 100 billion years (1,000 crore years) of hell life – this is karma nirjara.

Nivi :

Nivi involves a cycle of one day of fasting followed by a day of Ekasan (taking only one meal at a specific time). During the meal, do not eat or drink anything until one Prahar after sunrise. Sit in one place, fold your hands (Muththi Vaalavi), recite the Navkar Mantra three times, and then take food or water. Nivi is practiced within the larger spiritual practice called Upadhan Tap.

Ekasan :

In Ekasan, eat only once a day, sitting in one place and finishing the meal within 48 minutes. Do not eat or drink anything else, except boiled water, which can be taken only until sunset. By observing Ekasan, a person can shed karmas equivalent to 1 million years (10 lakh years) of hell life – karma nirjara.

Biyasanu :

Biyasanu refers to the practice of consuming food twice in a day, during the daytime hours and before sunset. Do not eat or drink anything until two Prahars after sunrise. Then sit in one place, fold your hands (Muththi Vaalavi), recite the Navkar Mantra three times, and only then take food or water.
