In the serene village of Shivdaspura, near Jaipur, Rajasthan, Padampura Jain Temple—also known as Bada Padampura—is a revered pilgrimage site for Jain devotees. This sacred temple holds deep religious significance and attracts visitors seeking peace, spirituality, and a connection to Jain heritage.

History and Significance

The temple was established in the early 20th century after the miraculous discovery of an idol of Padmaprabhu Bhagwan, the Sixth Tirthankara of Jainism. This event led to the construction of a magnificent temple dedicated to Padmaprabhu Swami, making Padampura a significant Jain pilgrimage destination.

Legends and Beliefs

According to local beliefs, the idol of Padmaprabhu Bhagwan was found buried underground, radiating divine energy. Devotees believe that offering prayers at this temple brings prosperity, spiritual enlightenment, and relief from suffering. Many pilgrims visit the temple seeking blessings for health and well-being.

Architectural 

The Bada Padampura Jain Temple is an architectural marvel, blending traditional Jain design with intricate carvings and exquisite detailing. The temple is built using white marble, which adds to its divine aura. Inside the temple, the walls and ceilings are adorned with detailed paintings and carvings that depict scenes from Jain scriptures.

The Idol

The main attraction of the temple is the black stone idol of Lord Padmaprabhu, seated in the Padmasana (lotus position). The idol, which exudes a sense of peace and divinity, is believed to have miraculous powers. The halo around the idol represents divine enlightenment, and devotees often meditate in front of it to seek inner peace and spiritual upliftment. The sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha) is beautifully decorated, creating an ambiance of serenity and devotion.

Located about 35 km from Jaipur, Padampura Jain Temple is easily accessible via road. Visitors can take private vehicles, taxis, or buses from Jaipur to reach this sacred site. The nearest railway station and airport are in Jaipur
