Soft, Tangy, Spicy, Fluffy — With a Jain Bliss Flavour Lift!
Sev Khamani is a Gujarati classic: soft crumbled khaman tempered with spices, garnished with sev, pomegranate, and coriander.
This Jain-friendly version keeps everything pure and sattvik — with an upgraded twist using Jain Bliss seasonings to make it even more chatpata, aromatic, and irresistible.

Ingredients You’ll Need
For the Khaman/Dhokla Base

1 cup besan
-
1 tbsp semolina
-
1 tsp ENO
-
1 tsp sugar
-
1 tsp lemon juice
-
½ tsp turmeric
-
Salt to taste

Water as needed
(You can also use leftover dhokla — just crumble it!)
For the Tadka (Tempering)

2 tbsp oil

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp sesame seeds

4–5 curry leaves

2 green chilies (chopped)

A pinch of hing

½ tsp Jain Bliss Tomato Powder

A pinch of Jain Bliss Chili Flakes (optional for heat)

2 tbsp water (to dissolve tomato powder)
Tomato Powder makes the tadka tangy and gives that perfect Gujarati-style red hint.
For Garnishing

Grated coconut

Step-by-Step Instructions
PART 1: Make the Base (Khaman/Dhokla)
Step 1: Prepare Batter
Mix besan, semolina, salt, turmeric, sugar, and lemon juice.
Add water gradually to make a smooth, ribbon-like batter.
Rest for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Steam
Add ENO, mix lightly, and pour into a greased tray.
Steam for 12 - 15 minutes until soft & fluffy.
Step 3: Crumble
Once cooled, crumble the dhokla into fine pieces.
This is your Khamani base!
PART 2: Make the Tadka
Step 1: Heat Oil
Add mustard seeds → let them splutter.
Add sesame seeds → curry leaves → green chilies → hing.
Step 2: Tomato Powder Magic
Mix ½ tsp Jain Bliss Tomato Powder in 2 tbsp water.
Add this mixture into the tadka.
Step 3: Optional Heat
Add a tiny pinch of Jain Bliss Chili Flakes if you like it spicy.
Let everything sizzle for 10 seconds.
PART 3: Combine
